Freedom Park Settlement presentation

 

Learn more about the Free Black Settlement at Freedom Park during an interpretive talk on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 9 a.m. at the Park’s Interpretive Center, 5537 Centerville Rd. 

 

Col Lafayette Jones Jr, a descendent of those who lived on the land during the 18th century, will offer a presentation on the 18th century life and freedom experienced by those who lived here more than 60 years before the Emancipation Proclamation. A book signing, “My Great, Great, Grandfather’s Journey,” will follow the presentation. The event is open to all ages.
