The Interpretive Center is open daily, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Whether it’s a family outing or a business gathering, Freedom Park offers something for everyone! The meeting room at the park’s Interpretive Center has space for 50 people standing or with chairs or 36 with tables and chairs. The meeting room features Wi-Fi, a projector and screen, and flip chart stands.
History buffs can visit one of the nation’s earliest Free Black Settlements complete with period furnishings, an 18th century cemetery, site of the Revolutionary War Battle of Spencer’s Ordinary in 1781, or get a virtual tour through the Center’s interactive kiosk. Thrill seekers and outdoor enthusiasts can take on more than 20 miles of mountain bike trails and nearly two miles of multiuse trails. Nature lovers can step inside the Williamsburg Botanical Garden or enjoy the abundant wildlife in the park. If you want to relax, bring your blanket and a book or a picnic lunch.
