Wilford Kale appointed to Jamestown seat
Mr. Wilford Kale Jr., a long time County resident, has been appointed to fill the vacant Jamestown seat on the James City County Board of Supervisors. The appointment order was issued March 20 by Circuit Court Judges Richard Y. Atlee Jr., Thomas B. Hoover and R. Bruce Long.
Formerly a local and State government reporter for the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Mr. Kale has a history serving James City County and the community as a member of the Planning Commission from 1998-2006, the Historical Commission and the Regional Health Service Board. Mr. Kale served with the Virginia Marine Resources Commission from 1994-2007, working from 1997-2007 as senior staff advisor and member of the agency’s management team.
Mr. Kale has been part of the community since 1966. Mr. Kale’s appointment is effective immediately and after qualification and swearing in, he will join the Board for the March 27 Board of Supervisors 4 p.m. work session and the 7 p.m. regular meeting in the Building F Board Room at the County Government Center, 101 Mounts Bay Rd.
