Structure Fire at 9441 Richmond Rd. in James City County

 

Fire and EMS units from the James City-Bruton Volunteer, James City County and York County Fire Departments responded at 10:23 p.m. on June 26 to a structure fire located at 9441 Richmond Rd. in western James City County. First arriving units reported a structure fire, involving two campers and the adjacent building fully involved in heavy fire. Personnel immediately initiated an exterior fire attack and requested additional units to support their water supply requirements due to the rural area with a limited hydrant system.

 

Thirty-five personnel with 14 pieces of apparatus responded to the incident. There were no reported injuries to civilians or fire personnel.

 

The fire was brought under control at 11:02 p.m. and the fire units cleared the scene at 12:45 a.m. Members of the James City County Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene to conduct an investigation into the cause which is still pending.
