Craig Metcalfe recognized for contributions to County parks and recreation

MetcalfeThe James City County Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission recently honored outgoing member and past Chairman Craig Metcalfe for his dedication to the citizens of James City County.

Metcalfe was appointed to the Commission by the County Board of Supervisors in May 2008. The Commission serves as a liaison between the citizens and government, advising on matters regarding the provision of recreation, health, wellness, sports and leisure services.

During his five years on the Commission, Metcalfe served as Chair for two years, overseeing the public input processes for the planning and design of the Kidsburg/Mid County Park project and for the Jamestown Beach restoration project. He was very active in all aspects of parks and recreation with a personal emphasis on enhancing customer services through efficiencies.

Metcalfe was recognized for his consistent leadership in the improvement of park and recreation programs and facilities as well as his work to represent the community in an outstanding and professional manner.
