Jamestown Discovery Boat Tours celebrates ribbon cutting and maiden voyage
James City County is pleased to announce that Jamestown Discovery Boat Tours (JDBT) has opened at Eco Discovery Park located at 2054 Jamestown Rd. in the County. JDBT celebrated their opening on Oct. 18 with a ribbon cutting and the maiden voyage of the Jamestown Discovery Pontoon Boat. The boat is U.S. Coast Guard certified and accommodates up to 28 passengers.
JDBT will offer 90 minute boat tours along the beautiful James River traveling around the historic Jamestown Island. All tours are handicap accessible and offer a new view of the history and beauty of the river. JDBT is owned and operated by Master Captain Corey J. Fenton. Captain Fenton is a native and long-time waterman of Williamsburg, Virginia.
The ribbon cutting featured brief remarks by Captain Fenton, Steve Rose (Eco Discovery Park) and Roberts District Supervisor and Board of Supervisors Chair John McGlennon. Rose commented, “We are very excited to have this new activity at the park. I know it will offer a new opportunity of discovery of the river for both residents and visitors.”
Tours will be available at varying times depending on the season. Group rates are available. Private charters, special events and fundraising groups are also available. For reservations and tickets, visit JDBT online or call 757-253-TOUR (8687).
