Duck Donuts celebrates ribbon cutting and grand opening

James City County (JCC) is pleased to announce that Duck Donuts celebrated its ribbon cutting on Wednesday, Oct. 23. The newest tenant of Monticello Marketplace Shoppes, Duck Donuts is located at 4655 Monticello Ave.
The JCC location of Duck Donuts is the first franchise of the company and is operated by John and Amy Williams. Duck Donuts was founded in 2006 in the Outer Banks of North Carolina by Russell DiGilio and Robin Griffith.
Duck Donuts is known for made-to-order donuts that are cooked while you wait. While offering many customer favorites, Duck Donuts also provides patrons with unique combinations such as maple icing with bacon and chocolate glaze with coconut. Hours of the JCC location are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on weekends from 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Orders may be placed ahead of time by calling 757-258-DUCK (3825). The ribbon cutting featured brief remarks by Board of Supervisors Chairman John McGlennon.
Duck Donuts’ location in JCC currently employs 20 individuals both full- and part-time and intends to hire additional staff.
