Hipple and Onizuk elected to JCC Board of Supervisors

 

Michael J. Hipple Sr. and Kevin Onizuk were elected on Nov. 5 to the James City County Board of Supervisors. Hipple represents the Powhatan District and replaces Andy Bradshaw who had been appointed until the November election. Hipple took the oath of office on Nov. 8 and joined the Board at the Nov. 12 meeting. Onizuk will represent the Jamestown District beginning Jan. 1, 2014. He will take the oath of office in late December and will join the Board at the Jan. 2 Organizational Meeting.

 

Hipple is the president of Michael J. Hipple Builder, Inc. He has volunteered with James City Bruton Volunteer Fire Department for 28 years and served as its president for 10 years. He is a member of the James City Ruritan Club and the Kiwanis Club of Toano. Hipple is also a member of the Williamsburg Chamber and Tourism Alliance and the New Kent Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife M. Kristen have seven children.

 

Onizuk is a residential mortgage loan originator with WestStar Mortgage. He is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Toano, the Monticello Woods Homeowners Association and is active in the PTA. He is a veteran of the Delaware Army National Guard. He and his wife Heather have three children.

Hipple and Onizuk’s terms will expire on Dec. 31, 2017.
