June 23 road closures and delays
On Sunday, June 23, more than 1,200 athletes will participate in the Revolution 3 (REV3) Williamsburg Triathlon. Portions of roads throughout James City County and the City of Williamsburg will be temporarily closed to accommodate the 56 mile cycling course and 13 mile running course of the race.
Motorists should expect delays between 6 a.m. and noon on:
- Greensprings Road
- John Tyler Highway
- Centerville Road
- Jolly pond Road
- Cranston’s Mill Pond Road (closed)
- Little Creek Dam Road
- Forge Road
- Diascund Road
- Richmond Road in Toano and Lanexa
The eastbound lanes of Monticello Avenue will be closed from News Road to Compton Drive between 7 a.m. and noon. A detour will be in place. Strawberry Plains Road to Ironbound Road can be used to access businesses on Monticello Ave (east) and New Town United Methodist Church.
In addition, motorists should expect delays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on:
- Richmond Road from Brooks Court to James Blair Drive
- Jamestown Road from north of Ukrop Way to Mill Neck Road
- Mill Neck Road from Jamestown Road to Berkeley Lane
- Brooks Street from Compton Drive to Richmond Road
- Compton Drive
