James City County hotel receives award from National Softball Association
James City County’s Economic Development Office is pleased to announce that the Crowne Plaza Williamsburg at Fort Magruder, managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts, recently received the Outstanding Host Hotel award for 2012 from the National Softball Association (NSA).
The Crowne Plaza Williamsburg at Fort Magruder has been a long-time host and sponsor of NSA events and was recognized by NSA for its outstanding service and commitment to making attendees of a Girls’ Fast Pitch Tournament feel at home. “The Crowne Plaza Williamsburg at Fort Magruder goes above and beyond when hosting teams by having cookouts, movie nights and other fun things to keep the guests engaged while in the hotel,” said Tommy Zehmer, Virginia State Director of NSA.
The criteria for the award is outstanding customer service, quality facilities at a fair rate and honoring the needs of the guests when dealing with weather and other issues associated with sports tournaments. This is the second time that a Virginia hotel has received this award.
NSA operates in all 50 states and hosts both youth and adult softball tournaments throughout the country. There are eight tournaments held in the area each year for the Girls’ Fast Pitch program. Teams from almost every state on the eastern seaboard participate in these events.
