James City County storm damage update

As a result of last night’s storm, James City County officials are conducting damage assessments throughout the County.

There are four homes in the County with substantial damage from fallen trees.

Trees fell across roads and power lines and some homes had minor damage including the loss of siding and trim.

The County did not have any injuries or fatalities; however two people were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after they hit a tree that had fallen on the Colonial Parkway.

The James City County Government Center located on Mounts Bay Road and the Tewning Road Complex remain closed due to a power outage. All other County services are operating on a normal schedule.

To report a power outage, call 1-866-DOM-HELP (1-866-366-4357) or go to www.dom.com.

County officials remind residents to stay away from all downed wires. Residents with emergencies should dial 911.
