JCC TV productions receive awards

Eric Williams, James City County video producer

Two James City County government television productions recently received Honorable Mentions from the National Association of Telecommunication Officers and Advisors 2012 Government Programming Awards.

Every 30 Minutes covers the two-day alcohol awareness event that is held each year at the local high schools before prom and graduation. The program is a joint effort between the County’s Police and Fire Departments, the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office and the schools.

The public service announcement, Curbside Recycling!, uses humor and stop-motion animation to show viewers what can be included in the weekly collection.

Both programs are available on the County’s YouTube channel, youtube.com/jamescitycounty, the County’s website and are often scheduled for broadcast on JCC TV on Cox Cable Channel 48.
