Elegantly Eclectic celebrates ribbon cutting and grand opening

Elegantly Eclectic Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting

Karen Spivey-Sladek cuts the ribbon for her business with Mary Jones, Board of Supervisors Chairman, and family and friends.

James City County is pleased to announce that Elegantly Eclectic, a consignment shop, celebrated its ribbon cutting and official grand opening on Tuesday, May 20. Located at 7191 Richmond Rd. in Norge, Elegantly Eclectic is open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday. The shop will be open by appointment only on Sundays.

Elegantly Eclectic has a mix of decorative home and garden pieces and is owned by Karen Spivey-Sladek. Spivey-Sladek is excited to do something she loves while having the opportunity to help others who must part with items. In addition to working with consigners, Spivey-Sladek also refurbishes old items to give them a new purpose.

Elegantly Eclectic’s slogan is “Mixing Yesterday with Tomorrow,” which Spivey-Sladek says is her perspective on updating decor items for a new life. Spivey-Sladek dedicated the grand opening in memory of her parents, stating “Always in my thoughts and forever in my heart.” She also thanks Lisa and Becky Waltrip for their assistance in helping as well as Sandy Miller, Ronnie Hazelwood and Johnny Ryalls.
