The James City County Planning Division and Community Participation Team (CPT) invite everyone who lives, works and plays in James City County to attend a Comprehensive Plan Community Workshop. Each workshop will focus on the topics of economic development, transportation and land use in the County as a whole but will spotlight one of three geographic regions. Participate in the meeting that is in your neighborhood.

Can’t attend the workshop pertaining to your geographic area? Attend one of the other workshops or view presentations on JCC TV (Channel 48 on Cox Cable) or on demand at jamescitycountyva.gov/comprehensiveplan after the meetings and provide input online.

The Comprehensive Plan is the County’s master plan for guiding future growth as put forth by County citizens. It is reviewed every five years and is used to evaluate development proposals and guide the decisions of County departments over the next 20 years. It covers all aspects of the community, and the 2035 Comprehensive Plan review will focus on economic development, transportation and land use. The Plan update is scheduled to follow a 15-month timeline with a final version ready for consideration by the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors in spring/summer of 2015.

To provide your own input, go online jamescitycountyva.gov/2035input; invite a speaker to visit your organization; or call the hotline 757-259-4990.
