James City County to conduct citizen phone survey

Beginning in late March, The Virginia Tech Center for Survey Research will conduct telephone surveys on behalf of James City County to gauge citizen opinions on topics such as services, programs, facilities, development and more. The survey results will influence the policies studied in the County’s 2035 Comprehensive Plan update and will have an impact on the County’s goals and actions for the next 20 years.

The Comprehensive Plan is the County’s master plan for guiding future growth. It is reviewed every five years and is used to evaluate development proposals and guide the decisions of County departments.  It covers all aspects of the community, including economic development, transportation and land use.

If you receive a call from Virginia Tech in the upcoming weeks, please pick up the phone and complete the survey. Look for Virginia Tech or a 540 area code in your caller ID. If you do not receive a telephone call from Virginia Tech and wish to participate in the Comprehensive Plan update, additional opportunities to get involved will be provided in the coming months.
