Easter Egg Extravaganza
Saturday, April 19
With over 10,000 eggs for the hunts, these events are ones to see! Hunts are divided by age and will be held in the Wanner Stadium and at the Abram Frink Jr. Community Center. Also enjoy face painting, refreshments for purchase and more! Bring your Easter basket and your camera! .Co-sponsor: Williamsburg Parks and Recreation.

Come support your neighbors in the Grove community while getting a jump on spring cleaning! Clean out your closet, garage or home! Get rid of your old clutter; all household items accepted. Six-foot tables are available for rent; seller keeps all profit. Bring your own additional table and/or clothes rack for free! Spring Break Programs

Registration for youth and teen spring break programs is open! The program runs Monday-Friday, April 7-11, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fee is $35/daily; $30 for James City/Williamsburg residents. The registration deadline for all spring break programs is Friday, April 4, 10 a.m.
The youth program, for grades K-5. will be offered at three convenient elementary school locations-Clara Byrd Baker, Rawls Byrd and Norge and includes fun trips, games galore and outdoor activities! Drop off and pick up at your registered spring break location. Bring lunch daily. The teen program, for grades 6-12, will be held at the James City County Recreation Center. Spring Break Clay & Mixed Media Camp (ages 5-9)
Monday-Friday, April 7-11, 10 a.m.-noon

Camp Chocolate (ages 7-12)

Horse Care Camp (ages 9+)

Red Cross Babysitting Course (ages 12+)

Spring Fling Middle School Dance
Friday, April 25, 6:30-9 p.m.
Toano Middle School
Bring your friends, participate in fun games and dance the night away! This dance is open to all area middle school students. Sponsored by the Youth Advisory Council and proceeds support the JCC Police Outreach programs. $5/ticket. Info: 757-259-5356.

Play in the Buddy Ball League! Played on two fields based on age, players are assisted by one-on-one volunteer buddies who make it possible to adapt play to individual player needs. Go Ape! Tuesday, April 8, 10 a.m.-noon, Freedom Park. Registration deadline is April 4.  Climb through the trees and experience zip lines, tarzan swings and obstacles!

Colonial Williamsburg Photo Scavenger Hunt, Saturday, April 12, 3-5 p.m., Meet on Duke of Gloucester Street in front of Wythe Candy. Break into teams for the scavenger hunt of the century! Then we’ll return to Baskin Robins for ice cream (please bring ice cream money!).
50’s Dance, Thursday, April 24, 6:30-8 p.m., James City County Recreation Center. Dress up like you’re from the 50’s and dance with awesome friends!

Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP): Instruction, Trips & Tours (ages 11+)

Women’s Mountain Bike Ride (all ages and abilities), Free!

Meet at the Freedom Park Interpretive Center
Ladies, join the Eastern Virginia Mountain Bike Association’s (EVMA) Dirt Divas on a woman’s-only mountain bike ride! Explore the trail system at Freedom Park, meet fellow female riders in the community and learn the ins-and-outs of mountain biking. Join the Eastern Virginia Mountain Bike Association to learn the basics or to enhance your freeride skills. WJCC GED® & Adult Education (ages 18+)
Want to earn your high school equivalency certificate or improve your Virginia Placement Test scores? The Williamsburg-James City County GED®/Adult Education program offers free Adult Basic Education (ABE) and GED® (General Educational Development) classes as well as free assessments. The program, which serves community members age 18 and older, is underway, and you can join in at any time. Classes are held at the Educational Center at James Blair Annex, 117A Ironbound Rd. Preregistration is required by March 29. James City County is proud to host our first annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament. Officials and all equipment provided. Trophies awarded to the winners in each division. Round robin play followed by single elimination play-offs. Teams are comprised of three or four players; male and female divisions. Diabetes Risk Assessment Screening & Blood Pressure Check, Free!

Aquatic Registration Dates
There are individual registration periods before each swim lesson session. Swim lesson schedules are released monthly and registration is accepted at the Centers and online at For more information, please call the Aquatic Coordinator at 259-4185.


American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course (ages 15+)
Two sessions offered in April – a prerequisite swim test on Friday, April 4 and the training course offered Monday-Thursday, April 7-10. $225/session includes swim test, book and materials; $200 for JC/W residents.
