JCC prepares for winter storm, Recreation Center and Community Center closing at 7 p.m., Chesapeake Bay Board meeting postponed


Due to inclement weather conditions, the James City County Recreation Center on Longhill Road and the Abram Frink Jr. Community Center in Grove will close at 7 p.m. 

The Chesapeake Bay Board meeting scheduled for tonight has been postponed. Agenda items will be covered during the regularly scheduled meeting on March 12.


James City County emergency officials are monitoring weather conditions and will remain on alert as the storm progresses through the area. County vehicles are being fueled and all standard procedures are being followed. Officials will make an announcement by 5:30 a.m. Thursday if County offices, community centers and/or facilities will open late or be closed.


Residents should monitor local media for the latest updates. County closings and weather-related information will be posted on the County website,, Cox Cable Channel 48,, and the County’s emergency hotline, 757-875-2424.
