JCC offers new Virtual Community Workshop for Comprehensive Plan update
Miss a Comprehensive Plan Community Workshop? Residents and businesses can still play a part in the future of the James City County community. The Community Participation Team (CPT) and the Planning Division are hosting a Virtual Community Workshop that can be viewed on demand at jamescitycountyva.gov/comprehensiveplan.
The Virtual Community Workshop includes information about the upper, central and lower parts of the County and focuses on the topics of economic development, transportation and land use. Virtual Community Workshop participants can complete the accompanying online questionnaire and have an impact on the goals set for our future and the actions the County undertakes.
In order to be included in the CPT’s public input summary, input should be received by June 30. All input, regardless of when it is received, will also be included in the complete package of comments that is forwarded to the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors for consideration.
The Comprehensive Plan is the County’s master plan for guiding future growth as put forth by County citizens. It is reviewed every five years and is used to evaluate development proposals and guide the decisions of County departments over the next 20 years. It covers all aspects of the community, and the 2035 Comprehensive Plan review will focus on economic development, transportation and land use. The Plan update is scheduled to follow a 15-month timeline with a final version ready for consideration by the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors in spring/summer of 2015.
To provide your own input, go online jamescitycountyva.gov/2035input or call the hotline 757-259-4990.
