Understanding and Thinking Rural
Interested in learning more about agriculture, forestry and rural businesses in James City County? Want to help define what ‘rural’ means to the County and its essential components? Your knowledge and input is very important to the County and Board of Supervisors.
Thank you to everyone who participated. The deadline for input was on August 14. The results of the meetings and questionnaires are being tabulated and will be given to the Board of Supervisors this fall.
Want to see all 130 of the great photos that were submitted as part of the “What Rural Means to Me” Photo Drive? Visit the Facebook album (link to https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151655130810490.1073741833.25345930489&type=3) to see what was submitted.
We’re hosting a panel of experts from across Virginia to cover topics from forestry and keeping farms in production to agri-tourism and local foods. This panel will help us all get a better understanding of the state of ‘rural’ across Virginia and present ideas and options for the County’s rural areas.
The Understanding Rural - Expert Panel is now available for viewing. It airs daily on TV48 at 7 p.m. and is available on demand on the County's YouTube channel:
Thank you for participating. If you have questions about this project, please contact Leanne Reidenbach at 757-253-6685 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
