Police - Internship Process
James City County Police Department participates in an internship program with local colleges and universities. Typically, internships will be offered to students seeking not more than 150 hours, unless special circumstances arise. Interns will complete various duties and observations to include (but not limited to):
- Court proceedings
- Crime Prevention events
- Data entry
- Emergency Communications
- General office assistance
- Patrol ride-alongs
How to Apply - Internship application process
To be considered eligible for a fall internship (typically August through December), applications are due May 15.
To be considered eligible for a winter internship (typically January through May), applications are due October 15.
To be considered eligible for a summer internship (typically June/July), applications are due March 15.
