Police Explorers (Post 2047)
The James City County Explorer Post is an organization that encourages young people (male and female) to participate in numerous educational and recreational activities. One must have completed the 8th grade and be between 14 and 21 years old to participate in the program. The purpose of this program is to help young people learn about law enforcement as a career, with seminars, hands-on training and social events to experience the many aspects of this occupation. Regular attendance at meetings and participation in community service events is a requirement for membership. The Explorers meet the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Law Enforcement Center (4600 Opportunity Way). For more information or to receive an application, please contact the Lt.
