Community Animal Response Team (CART)

CART is a volunteer organization dedicated to emergency preparedness, response and sheltering specifically focused on pets and their owners. The program teaches pet owners how to better prepare themselves and their pets for evacuation during an emergency, and the need for human evacuation shelters to provide accommodations to pets of evacuees. Visit our CART page for more details.

Emergency Management offers Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) that educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area, and trains them in basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations. Using their training, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event until professional emergency responders and critical resources arrive. Visit our CERT page for more information.
