Pause My Service

You may request to pause service for one of the following situations: 

  • Active-Duty Military may pause service for up to 12 months with a copy of their military orders as supporting documentation. 
  • Curbside subscribers may pause service once within a fiscal year (July 1- June 30) for a minimum of 2 months, and a maximum of 6 months.  

Program Parameters

  • Pause requests must be made by the account holder.  
  • Complete the request 2-weeks prior to the date(s) requested.  
  • You must complete the online request form and consent to sign electronically. Otherwise, you may request to have a form mailed/emailed to you and you must return the form to us with a handwritten signature. To request the form, contact the Curbside Recycling Hotline at 757-253-6700.   
  • Billing is prorated to the 1st of the month.
  • No daily or weekly proration will be allowed.
  • Resident must place their cart inside while service is paused.
  • Using the service while the account is in a paused status will prohibit participation in the program in the future.  
  • All communication regarding the approval, denial, or additional documentation we may need to approve your request, will be sent to the email address you have provided on this form.
