Information Resources Management provides information, communication and business solutions to the departments and agencies of James City County government so that they can achieve their business objectives and exceed the expectations of the citizens we all serve.

James City County TV
James City County TV is the County’s government station airing on Cox Cable channels 88 and 48. The channel features unique programming you can't find any place else including the live coverage of the James City County Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission meetings.
Records Management
Once land development files are closed they are sent to the Records Management office. Information often referred to as Public Records resides at several locations in the James City County and City of Williamsburg area.

- What records do we maintain?

All closed-out zoning files, site plans, building permits, accessory permits, wetland files, sign permits, rezoning files, master plans, subdivisions files and etc., are available in our office.
- What records and drawings are retained permanently?

All documents and drawings are retained permanently, except for residential plans.
- Do we keep residential building plans permanently?

No, residential building plans are retained for 5 years after the certificate of occupancy is issued.
