Group Life Insurance
Eligible employees participate in a Group Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance program through VRS. The County pays the entire cost for employees. Benefits include:
- Natural death payment at twice the employee's annual salary
- Double indemnity for accidental death
- Dismemberment payments
Optional Group Life Insurance
As a member of VRS, you have the opportunity to protect your family's financial security with Optional Group Life Insurance. Eligible employees pay the entire cost of this benefit based on their age and salary. Employees may elect coverage up to 8 times their annual salary. Spouse and dependent coverage is also available. Guaranteed coverage if applied for within 31 days from date of employment!
