Freedom: The Hands that Built History Tours - CANCELED

Saturday, February 17, 2024

Celebrate Black History Month by taking a step back in time with our Freedom: The Hands that Built History Tour. This impactful event will pay tribute to the generations of African Americans who used their hard work, talents, and skills to build this nation. This free event, starting at the Freedom Park Interpretive Center, will be a guided tour of the park’s first Free Black Settlement during the sunset hours. Enjoy a complimentary hot beverage while you embark on the guided tour. Along the way, experience stories of hardship and triumph from Dylan Pritchett, a Virginia Black Storyteller. Meet African American artisans who will demonstrate woodworking and white oak basket weaving as it was done centuries ago. Registration required specific timeslots. $5 per person. Weather permitting; registration required. Visit https://bit.ly/4ajK3wT to register.
