[ARCHIVED] Virginia Gourmet Brands Have New Ownership

James City County is pleased to announce that Virginia Gourmet and its corresponding brands, Nouvel, LLC and Mrs. Bryant’s Specialty Foods & Sauces have been sold to new owners, Mike D'Alessandro and Jeff Gouger. Both D’Alessandro and Gouger have experience in entrepreneurship and business and are passionate about specialty foods. Virginia Gourmet opened its retail location at 264 McLaws Circle in 2011 and has a commercial kitchen on site where the Mrs. Bryant’s Apple Sauce is produced. The commercial kitchen manufacturing equipment received grant funding from the Economic Development Authority of James City County.

D’Alessandro and Gouger are excited to take Virginia Gourmet and Mrs. Bryant’s Specialty Foods & Sauces to the next level including extending café and store hours and expanding the product line to include a variety of pickled products. They will continue to produce Mrs. Bryant’s Apple Sauce and offer Virginia’s Finest products at their retail store in addition to attending local farmer’s markets.

Mrs. Bryant’s Specialty Foods & Sauces produces gluten free, organic or all natural specialty foods, beverages and ingredients. Mrs. Bryant’s Apple Sauce was previously owned by Joy Brant and Lenny Berl.
