[ARCHIVED] Police Hold Shop With A Cop

Shop With a Cop

On Dec. 9 from 9:30 a.m.-noon, James City County Police Department, in partnership with Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Chick-fil-A Monticello Marketplace, Target Store Williamsburg and James City County Department of Social Services (DSS), will hold Shop With a Cop. This annual event provides holiday gift shopping to underprivileged children in our community and an opportunity for those youth to connect with local police officers in a positive and relaxed environment. Participating children, who have been identified by DSS, are partnered with a police officer for the morning. They are provided a Target gift card to shop for items for themselves and their family members. After shopping, all participants enjoy lunch compliments of Chick-fil-A.

Officers look forward to this rewarding experience each year. We hope that the relationships built through outreach programs like Shop With A Cop will be long-lasting and create fond memories of a positive impact made by police officers.
