James City County Parks & Recreation is combining two events – the Pitch, Hit & Run and the Jr. Home Run Derby -- into a morning of fun competition! The free competitions are backed by Major League Baseball® and offer an opportunity to compete for the chance to move to the regional finals! JCC’s Double Play is Friday, April 6, 10 a.m. to noon at the Warhill Sports Complex, 5700 Warhill Trail (baseball fields entrance).
Pitch, Hit & Run, designed for boys and girls ages 7-14, is a chance to get tips from local baseball players on how to improve techniques, then compete in three areas of competition for an opportunity to move to the sectional competition!
Jr. Home Run Derby, for boys and girls ages 14 & younger, is for those wanting to be the next home run derby champ! Swing for the stands for a chance to compete at the regional competition.
The Double Play is free, but
preregistration is required. If you wish to compete in both events, please be
sure to register for both. Information and registration is accepted online from the Parks & Recreation homepage or by calling 757-259-4200. For more information, call 757-259-5355.
