[ARCHIVED] Clean County Commission Announces 40th Annual Countywide Spring Cleanup

Ironbound Park Clean Up Volunteers

Many citizens have been voicing their concerns about the accumulated litter along the County’s roadsides, so now is the perfect time to team up to clean up!  Join the Clean County Commission's continued efforts to keep James City County beautiful through the 40th Annual Countywide Spring Cleanup event with a material collection date scheduled for April 14, 7 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Jolly Pond Transfer Station located at 1204 Jolly Pond Road. This event was created to encourage citizens to clean up public common areas and right-of-ways throughout the month. Over 400 James City County residents participated in last year’s event. Local volunteers have removed millions of pounds of trash from County roadsides and illegal dump sites over the last four decades.

Every effort to improve our community makes a positive and noticeable difference. As a show of gratitude, volunteers will be recognized at a picnic following the cleanup. Interested groups and individuals should register online. For more information on how you can participate in this event, please call 757-565-0032.
