[ARCHIVED] Parks & Recreation to Offer Spring Break Camps

Spring Break Camps

Parks & Recreation is offering a full day REC Connect Spring Break Program for youth ages 5-14!  

For kids ages 5-10, the break program features fun trips, games galore and outdoor activities! The program will be held at three sites - choose the camp location best for you. Drop off and pick up your child daily at your registered location. 

Program Sites - Clara Byrd Baker Elementary School, Norge Elementary School and Laurel Lane Elementary School. 
Operating Hours – April 2-6, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. 
Cost - $35/day or $30 for James City County/Williamsburg residents.

  • Showtime!
    Monday, April 2: Catch a flick at Regal Cinemas in Williamsburg! Bring lunch.
  • Clay Creations!
    Tuesday, April 3: Create your own piece of art at Paint on Pottery in Williamsburg. Bring lunch. 
  • Up, Up and Away!
    Wednesday, April 4: A cool IMAX movie and space exhibits are included in this fun trip to the Virginia Air & Space Center in Hampton! Bring lunch.
  • Theatrical Fun!
    Thursday, April 5: We’re off to the James City County Library Theatre for a live performance! Bring lunch.
  • Ready, Set, Go!
    Friday, April 6: games galore during the outdoor field day adventures! Fun activities at James River Elementary School. Lunch included!

For youth ages 10-14, enjoy Spring Break with fun trips and activities! 
Program Site: James City County Recreation Center. Each day begins and ends with activities at the Center. 
Operating Hours – April 2-6, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. 
Cost: $35/day or $30 for James City County/Williamsburg residents.

    Monday, April 2: Let’s jump into Spring Break at Jumpology in Richmond.
  • Tag - You’re Out!
    Tuesday, April 3Go on a fun-filled mission and complete a game of Laser Quest in Richmond.
  • On the Move!
    Wednesday, April 4Enjoy a trip to Go-Kart Plus, race, play and have fun.
  • Discovering Nature
    Thursday, April 5Explore the Virginia Living Museum where Virginia’s heritage comes alive through trails and exhibits.
  • A New Catch
    Friday, April 6Enjoy all the great outdoors has to offer. Try your luck with disc golf at New Quarter Park and celebrate the end of a great Spring Break with a cookout!


The registration deadline for Spring Break programs is March 30 at 10 a.m. You can register online from the Parks & Recreation homepageby phone at 757-259-4200 or at any payment location listed below:

  • Abram Frink Jr. Community Center, 8901 Pocahontas Trail
  • Freedom Park Interpretive Center, 5537 Centerville Road
  • Satellite Services Office (Toano), 3127 Forge Road
  • Chickahominy Riverfront Park, 1350 John Tyler Highway

Discount Assistance Program - discounts are available to any qualified resident based on total gross household income. For information, please call 757-259-5414.
