Portions of the James City County Recreation Center walking trail are scheduled to close for repairs beginning Tuesday, April 10. The repairs are needed to remove more than 20 sections of cracked and damaged segments along the paved multi-use trail. Work will
take place along the ½ mile stretch of the trail beginning at the Recreation
Center’s parking lot entrance and ending where DePue Drive and Ironbound Road
intersect, in front Plumeri Park. There are approximately 700 square yards
of trail that require work, including cutting out damaged trail sections, removing underlying
roots and making repairs with asphalt.
Due to the required onsite machinery and equipment, this portion of the trail will be closed while the work is being performed. The project is scheduled to be completed within a week, weather permitting. The repairs will enhance user safety as well as trail appearance along the affected areas.
