James City County is pleased to announce that H&H Medical Corporation (H&H) has received recognition for its newest product the H*VENT Vented Chest Seal (H*VENT). The H*VENT was named a “JEMS Hot Product” during the EMS Today 2018 Conference. The H*VENT was released in Dec. 2017 and is a hydrogel chest dressing designed to relieve pressure from an open chest wound due to air in the chest (pneumothorax) or bodily fluid (hemothorax). Previously, the H*VENT received a 2017 EMSWorld Innovation Award as a pioneering product.
The H*VENT is a unique multi-directional vented dressing with six ports that allow the dressing to be usable even if five ports are blocked. The H*VENT creates a complete seal, has been proven to retain a seal even during inhalation and has the lowest profile of any vented chest seal. The H*VENT is sold in a single pack and a twin-pack with two individually sealed chest seals connected together for easy access and use.
H&H was established in James City County in 2016, but was founded more than 30 years ago. H&H began as an engineering consulting firm located in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. More than ten years ago, H&H brought their expertise to the combat first aid environment for the military and is now one of the leading manufacturers of emergency medical bandages and trauma solutions for the military, civilian law enforcement, private industry, foreign agencies and civilians.
H&H designs and manufactures their products at their County headquarters. Their line of products includes the SWAT-T tourniquet, the H*VENT chest seal, the H-Bandage compression dressing, and other products for emergency trauma situations. H&H is also known for their line of bleeding control kits, including the “Grab and Go” kits for easy packing and use, and custom casualty response kits made for James City County and other localities.
