Campground Host Needed_Final6

James City County Parks & Recreation is seeking an after-hours caretaker for the Chickahominy Riverfront Park campground. The selected candidate would begin the three-month position in June and should be available to work five days a week with weekend and holiday availability especially important. In exchange for work duties, the caretaker will be provided with a free, full hook-up RV spot that includes water, electric and sewer at no charge during the 90-day agreement period.

Caretaker responsibilities include maintaining security within the park, assisting in overall park maintenance such as cleaning restrooms and bathrooms nightly, walking the campground each evening after quiet hours which begin at 10 p.m., and remaining on call as a point of contact. Issues that might arise while on duty include responding to disruptive campers, broken water spigots or other equipment and assisting campers unable to find their sites.

Training will be provided as well as a list of appropriate contacts (maintenance, the police etc.) to resolve all issues. To apply for the position, please complete the online application.
