[ARCHIVED] May 25 is Motown Night at Jamestown Jams Featuring The Groove Motive

Come and enjoy free live music on May 25 with The Groove Motive as they perform for Motown Night during Jamestown Jams at Jamestown Beach Event Park.

The Groove Motive is a 6-piece powerhouse that delivers on providing audiences with an exciting, engaging, music-filled experience. The Groove Motive formed in 2009 to make music that lifts the spirit with subtle original stylings, delicious grooves and tasty musicianship. The sum of the parts yields a musical brew deep in flavor and rich in authentic creativity paired with vocal harmonies and a high-energy performance. The Groove Motive will have you dancing, singing and clapping your hands from 6:30-8 p.m.

Entrance will open for the concert at 5:30 p.m. Concert will take place on a grassy field within Jamestown Beach Event Park. Admission to Jamestown Jams is free. Parking will be behind the old Jamestown Campground building at 2205 Jamestown Road adjacent to Jamestown Settlement.

The County is pleased to partner with The Arc of Williamsburg for this year’s concerts. The Arc will be selling assorted beer and all proceeds will benefit their local activities and programs. The Arc of Greater Williamsburg has proudly served adults with developmental disabilities in our community since 1976. Now in their 42nd year, they serve young adults as they age out of special education at age 22 through their senior years. They provide 8-10 monthly, evening activities, as well as a Day Support Program. Programs and activities also provide respite time for caregivers.

Food from Hungry Hungry Arrow and icy treats from Sno-To-Go will be available for purchase. Additionally, the Williamsburg Winery will be on hand serving their fine wines.

Snacks, picnics and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted. All items are subject to inspection prior to entrance. No alcohol or large, plastic coolers are permitted. Pets are not permitted at Jamestown Jams for the safety of all attendees. Only service animals will be permitted entrance to Jamestown Jams. Chairs and blankets are permitted.

Jamestown Beach will remain open to patrons during each concert and will follow its regular operating schedule.
