Come and enjoy free live music on June 21 with “The Originals” by Iota Creative Collective as they perform during Jamestown Jams at Jamestown Beach Event Park. “The Originals” will highlight four local songwriters during a Jamestown Jams takeover. Paul Todd, Andrew Ballantyne, Laura Rice and Clayton Perry will each have their own dedicated set during this songwriter showcase.
All performers for the June edition of Jamestown Jams are affiliated with the IOTA Creative Collective. Founded by social entrepreneur, lifelong musician and songwriter Sam Eure (Sammy Lee), IOTA Creative Collective is a startup driven to be a full service media lab and co-working space designed to inspire original music development and support local, independent artists and performers in their creative pursuits. Providing resource access and opportunity is a standard, but IOTA Creative Collective operates to serve, build and support a community, built for musicians, by musicians.Entrance will open for the concert at 5:30 p.m. Concert will take place on a grassy field within Jamestown Beach Event Park. Admission to Jamestown Jams is free. Parking will be behind the old Jamestown Campground building at 2205 Jamestown Road adjacent to Jamestown Settlement. The June Jamestown Jams kicks off evening activities for Project 547, a James City County Parks & Recreation initiative highlighting the longest day of the year with a variety of outdoor activities.The County is pleased to partner with The Arc of Williamsburg for this year’s concerts. The Arc will be selling assorted beer and all proceeds will benefit their local activities and programs. The Arc of Greater Williamsburg has proudly served adults with developmental disabilities in our community since 1976. Now in their 42nd year, they serve young adults as they age out of special education at age 22 through their senior years. They provide 8-10 monthly, evening activities, as well as a Day Support Program. Programs and activities also provide respite time for caregivers.Food from The Scottish Pig and icy treats from Sno-To-Go will be available for purchase. Additionally, the Williamsburg Winery will be on hand serving their fine wines.Snacks, picnics and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted. All items are subject to inspection prior to entrance. No alcohol or large, plastic coolers are permitted. Pets are not permitted at Jamestown Jams for the safety of all attendees. Only service animals will be permitted entrance to Jamestown Jams.
