The Office of Economic Development is pleased to announce a new three-part online series that will be released in August on their website. “Preparing Your Business for an Emergency” is divided into Get Connected, Be Prepared and Resources.
James City County provides a variety of resources for businesses including services from the Police Department and Emergency Management. Additionally, the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, the Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Small Business Administration and FEMA all have available resources for a business who is preparing for emergencies.
“County businesses are encouraged to be prepared for emergencies in order to be resilient. Preparation is key and I am glad that the Office of Economic Development is concerned about preparedness especially as we reach peak hurricane season,” said County Emergency Manager Sara Ruch.
Following the release of the series, the information will remain on the Economic Development website in the Info Center.
