Jolly Pond Road at the dam will close to traffic at 5 p.m. Sept. 12. The closure is necessary for the safety of the traveling public.
Due to extreme high tides anticipated this weekend, electric service along the bulkhead/shoreline at the James City County Marina has been disconnected and will remain off until Sept. 17. During this period, fuel service and electrical outlets will not be available to boaters. The Marina store will operate on normal hours and all other Marina services and equipment rentals will be available.
As announced earlier, due to changes in the track of Hurricane Florence, James City County government offices, parks, libraries and the Recreation Center will continue normal operating hours Sept. 13-15. The Chickahominy Riverfront Park fishing pier will remain closed until further notice. The Emergency Operations Center will be partially activated on Thursday and Friday to continue monitoring conditions.
We encourage County residents to also check local media and weather reports throughout the weekend regarding the status of Hurricane Florence.
