At their Oct. 11 meeting, the Economic Development Authority (EDA) revised its remaining 2018 meeting dates.

The changes are as follows:

  • The Real Estate Committee of the EDA has canceled its Thursday, Oct. 18 meeting. The Real Estate Committee meets monthly and the calendar is available online. The Real Estate Committee is a three-member subcommittee of the EDA.
  • The EDA has canceled its regularly scheduled meeting for Thursday, Nov. 8.
  • Finally, the EDA has rescheduled its December meeting to 3 p.m. instead of 4 p.m. and the meeting will take place at the Freedom Park Interpretive Center. This will be the EDA’s annual retreat and organizational meeting for 2019.

The EDA is a seven-member volunteer board whose members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors and serve staggered four-year terms. The Authority’s function is to pursue and comply with the goals and objectives set forth in the Comprehensive Plan; to advise the Board of Supervisors through the County Administrator of any application made by an agent or representative of a prospective facility requesting the Authority to issue bonds; and to advise the governing body of James City County of the potential location of the facility.
