James City County residents impacted by Tropical Storm Michael have two options for free or reduced cost disposal of storm-related vegetative debris:
Reduced Cost Bulk Pickup
County residents can request bulk pickup at a reduced cost of $50 for up to 4 cubic yards of material. 1 cubic yard is equal to the bed of a full size pickup truck.
- Request must be submitted by Oct. 28. You will be contacted by County staff to schedule the pickup.
- Vegetative debris must be brought to the roadside away from power lines and mailboxes.
- Tree trunks and branches must be cut to 8 feet or less in length.
- Tree stumps up to 24” in diameter will be accepted.

Free Self-haul Disposal
County residents can dispose of their vegetative debris at Jolly Pond Road Convenience Center free of charge through Oct. 28, 2018. Jolly Pond Road Convenience Center is located at 1204 Jolly Pond Road.
- Proof of James City County residency is required. This free disposal will continue until Oct. 28, 2018
- Fees are not waived for construction debris.
- Jolly Pond Convenience Center is open daily, 7 a.m.-5 p.m.
Tewning Convenience Center and Toano Convenience Centers will be closed through Oct. 28 as staff will be needed to assist customers at the Jolly Pond Road Convenience Center.
