If you have an interest in sharing your concerns about the intersections of Route 5 and Greensprings Road and Route 5 and Centerville Road, James City County and VDOT want to hear from you. Ruth Larson, the Representative for the Berkeley District on the James City County Board of Supervisors, is hosting a community forum on Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. at Jamestown High School (3751 John Tyler Highway.)
County staff and representatives from VDOT will be in attendance to discuss possible alternatives that would make the intersections safer for those traveling through this part of James City County and to gather public input on these ideas or what community members feel needs to be done to improve these intersections.
“Unfortunately, frequently used fixes such as widening the road or installing a traffic circle won’t work in the area,” Larson explained. “We need to meet with our citizens, explain why those approaches won’t work and come up with a solution to the numerous accidents at these intersections.” For more information, call County Administration at 757-253-6602.
