The fourth annual Home-Based Business Resource Fair & Conference is on Friday, April 12 from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Peninsula Workforce Development Center at 600 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA 23666. This unique event features a resource fair with over 20 exhibitors, as well as conference sessions and specialty breakout tracts focused on topics relevant to all types of home-based businesses.Businesses without a fixed, definite place of business (that is no storefront, office or industrial space) are, per the Code of Virginia, considered a home-based business. These businesses can be home-based franchises, traditional home-based businesses, direct sales and network marketing businesses.Registration is $30, but a 10% early bird registration is available through Friday, March 15 and local chamber members receive discounted admission. Registration includes breakfast, lunch and snacks.This event has received national recognition as a “Top 100 Brilliant Ideas at Work Across the Nation” from the National Association of Counties and was a gold award recipient of “Excellence in Economic Development” from the International Economic Development Council.
