On Jan.26 at approximately 5:30 p.m., units from the James City County Fire Department responded to a report of an aircraft crash at the Williamsburg-Jamestown Airport. While landing, a small Piper Cherokee aircraft overran the runway, ending up on the bank of College Creek. The pilot from the Yorktown area was not injured. The Virginia State Police and FAA are investigating. Crews from the City of Williamsburg and York County Fire Departments assisted.
