[ARCHIVED] Harris Teeter Opens on John Tyler Highway

James City County is pleased to announce that Harris Teeter has opened a new grocery store at 4511 John Tyler Highway in the Governor’s Green Shopping Center. The store is 55,000 square feet. This location is the fourth of the former Farm Fresh stores Harris Teeter purchased in May 2018 to open under the Harris Teeter banner. The store features signature Harris Teeter amenities including ExpressLane Online Shopping, a hot foods bar, salad bar, a sub shop and fresh sushi.

The store is open from 5 a.m. until midnight daily and has a pharmacy. The general manager is Bill Hall.

Harris Teeter Supermarkets, Inc. was founded in 1960 and is based in Matthews, NC. The company operates 249 stores in seven states including Virginia and North Carolina. There are two other Harris Teeter locations in the Greater Williamsburg area including one in James City County at 6485 Centerville Road in the Lightfoot Marketplace. The regional grocery chain employs approximately 30,000 associates.
