Continued low temperatures are expected in the area this week. Need a place to warm up? Citizens and visitors can go to the JCC Recreation Center, 5301 Longhill Rd. during normal operating hours; Monday-Thursday 6 a.m.-9 p.m., Friday 6 a.m.-8 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Sunday 1-6 p.m. Call 757-259-4200 for more information.

The Community of Faith Mission is operating a winter nighttime sheltering program at local churches; more information can be found at www.cofm.info

The Commonwealth of Virginia also offers an energy assistance program for households that meet certain requirements for help with supplementing their heating needs and purchase equipment. Call 259-3131 for more information or to apply online visit www.commonhelp.virginia.gov.
