On June 6 at 4:49 p.m., units from the James City County Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 5100 block of Greenwich Mews in the Mews of Williamsburg subdivision. The homeowner called 911 reporting a grill on fire on the back deck, and first arriving units found heavy fire conditions on the rear of the two story townhome building with extension into the attic space. The fire was brought under control at 6:41 p.m., after causing significant fire and smoke damage to two of the units. There were no injuries. The James City-Bruton Volunteer Fire Department, Williamsburg Fire Department and York County Department of Fire and Life Safety assisted.
