[ARCHIVED] Social Services to Host Community Fair Aug. 17

Community Fair

James City County’s Department of Social Services will host a Community Fair on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Human Services Center, 5249 Olde Towne Road, Williamsburg, VA.

The Community Fair gives citizens the opportunity to learn more about the wide array of social services available to citizens in a fun setting. Fair booths will be set up to provide information ranging from services for the elderly to how to start a daycare in your home or center as a child care subsidy provider and get paid by the state. Staff will also be on hand to assist with online applications on the Commonhelp website. Participating partners include the County’s Department of Parks & Recreation, the Police and Fire Departments, Peninsula Agency on Aging, Child Development Resources, Olde Towne Medical & Dental Center, The Salvation Army and more.

There will be fun games for everyone to enjoy along with crafts for the kids throughout the Fair. The Fire Department will bring a firetruck and the Police Department will help children create their very own “Ident-a-Kid” card.

Snacks will be available for attendees and Sno-to-Go will provide refreshments.

For more information, please call 757-259-3100.
