[ARCHIVED] Study Findings and Recommendations for Rt. 5/Rt. 614 Intersection Improvements Presented at Forum

Intersection Map from VDOT

More than 30 residents attended the second community forum on July 11 to discuss issues pertaining to the Rt. 5 and Rt. 614

Representatives from VDOT discussed the findings of a safety study that was completed after the public input meeting held in January. Pros and cons of potential short and long-term options were discussed. Materials presented by VDOT at the July 11 community forum on Rt. 5/Rt. 614 intersections are available on the County’s website.

VDOT will be implementing some signage changes in the area as an immediate fix, and representatives from VDOT and the County will continue to identify funding options for longer-term alternatives.

This was the second community forum on the issue hosted by Ruth Larson, the Representative for the Berkeley District on the James City County Board of Supervisors.
