If a hurricane or flood would hit James City County tomorrow, are you ready? Do you have an emergency plan?
While preparing for an emergency is important for everyone, those with special or functional needs due to health and mobility challenges are at greater risk. The time to plan is now.
James City County wants to help anyone with special or functional needs develop that plan so they will be prepared to survive for an extended period of time with the possible loss of electricity, water, communication, food and medical resources.
An easy first step is to register for the James City County Special/Functional Needs Registry. This service helps the County know about anyone who may need additional help before, during or after an emergency.
To be included on James City County’s Special/Functional Needs Registry or for more information, visit the website or call 757-259-3100. Information provided through registration is confidential and shared only with emergency planners and responders as necessary. It is updated annually and inclusion on the list is strictly voluntary.
For more information, call 757-259-3100.
