This past spring, the Center for Survey Research (CSR) at the University of Virginia contacted 3,000 randomly-selected residents of James City County on behalf of the Board of Supervisors to determine residents’ opinions on a range of issues related to the updating of the Comprehensive Plan, the County’s master plan for guiding growth over the next 20 years. Residents completed 1,060 surveys with responses related to County services, land use and development, growth and communication, resulting in an impressive response rate of 35.3 percent and overall margin of error of +/- 3.6 percent.

Citizens can watch Dr. Thomas Guterbock, director of the CSR, present a summary of the citizen survey findings to the James City County Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission at their joint work session on July 23 or read the entire report online.
